UAW 2250 ‘Polar Plunge’ raises $10K for Missouri Special Olympics

Lake St. Louis, MO – A hearty group of UAW Local 2250 members and their families and friends took an icy jump into Lake St. Louis Feb. 3 as part of the 21st annual Polar Plunge to benefit Special Olympics Missouri. Local 2250, which has participated in the event every year since its inception through its Community Service Committee, raised $10,275 for the effort. Overall, this year’s Polar Plunge events brought in $126,500 for the Special Olympics Missouri, which provides a year-round program of sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. – Photo courtesy of Yvette Bergeron
