Union and worker-friendly golf tournaments

May 4 – North County Labor Legislative Club’s 33rd Annual Golf Tournament at Florissant City Golf Club will begin at 7 a.m. with registration and an 8 a.m. shotgun start. Florissant City Golf Club is located at 50 Country Club Lane, Florissant, Mo. 63033. The $80 entry fee includes 18 holes of golf in a four-person scramble format, canned beer, soda, food at the turn and a pork steak dinner after the tournament. Hole sponsorships are $200. May 10 – United Steelworkers’ 29th Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament will begin with an 8 a.m. four-person scramble shotgun start at Arlington Greens Golf Course, 200 Arlington Drive, Granite City, Ill. Proceeds benefit United Steelworkers Sub District 2 annual scholarship for sons or daughters of Steelworkers. Entry donation is $100 per player and include 18 holes of golf, cart, beer, soda, brats, attendance prizes, a 50/50 drawing, souvenirs and the chance to win awards. Dinner prepared by USW Local 9189 will be served immediately following the tournament. Hole sponsorships are $125. Tournament sponsorships are $250. For more information, call 618-452-1130.

May 18 – 28th Annual Union Solidarity Open Butch Yarborough Golf Classic at Belk Park Golf Club, 880 Belk Park Road, Wood River, Ill. will begin with an 8 a.m. four-person scramble shotgun start. Entry fee is $100 per person and includes brats, cold beer and soda on the course, gifts, prizes and a steak dinner after the tournament. Skins game and mulligans available. Proceeds benefit union members and their families. All proceeds are placed in the Union Solidary Open, Inc. fund. Tee/hole sponsorships are $125 and include sign and name on flyer. May 18 – 28th Annual Tom Kraus Memorial Golf Tournament at Forest Park Golf Course, hosted by IBEW Local 1439. This year’s tournament will raise money for the Super Sam Foundation – Fighting Childhood Cancer, a support system for youth cancer patients and their families. The tournament will begin with a 7:30 a.m. four-person scramble shotgun start and will include prizes for first and second place in A and B flights, Closest-to-the-Hole, with skins and mulligans. Entry fee of $100 per golfer, or $400 for a four-person team includes cart, green fees, donuts, juice and coffee and lunch in the Champions Room at Forest Park. Sponsorships range from $100 to $5,000. Sponsorship checks should be made out to Super Sam Foundation. All donations are tax deductible. May 28 – Gene Slay’s Girls and Boys Club 32nd Annual Golf Classic at Norwood Hills Country Club, 1 Norwood Hills Country Club Drive, St. Louis, Mo. 63121. The event will begin with registration and breakfast at 7 a.m., followed by a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start. Afternoon registration begins at 10:30 a.m., followed by lunch and noon shotgun start. Following the tournament at 5 p.m., enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, a buffet dinner, a Fund-A-Need auction and the prizes and awards ceremony. Each course will have an opportunity to win a car! Entry fee is $600 per golfer, of which $310 is tax deductible. Ads and sponsorships are also partially or fully tax deductible. Ads range from $150 to $600. June 1 – Machinists Chapter 9 Annual Guide Dogs of America Golf Tournament will begin with a 7 a.m. registration and an 8 a.m. four-person scramble shotgun start. Entry fee of $550 for four players includes beverages, green fee with cart, food on the turn, refreshments on the course, prizes and dinner, or $750 for four players and a one hole sponsorship. Hole sponsorships at $225 per hole. June 4 – Illinois AFL-CIO’s 17th Annual Golf Outing will begin with a 1 p.m. tee off at The Rail Golf Course, 1400 S. Club House Drive, Springfield, Ill. or a 7:30 a.m. tee off for those who would rather golf in the morning (limited spots available). Dinner will follow golf at 6 p.m. Entry fee is $250 per player. There are four levels of sponsorship ranging from a $300 hold sponsor to a $5,000 gold sponsor. Make checks payable to Illinois AFL-CIO COPE, 534 S. June 6 – 29th Annual Southwestern Illinois Building & Construction Trades Golf Scramble will begin with a 9 a.m. four-person scramble shotgun start at Belk Park Golf Course, 880 Belk Park Road, Wood River, Ill. The tournament will be divided into three flights and is limited to 36 teams. Proceeds benefit the PAC fund to support state and local election candidates who are friends of Labor. Entry fee is $400 per team. Sponsorships range from $150 to $500. June 8 – Painters District Council 58’s Ninrth Annual Page A. Lucks Memorial P.A.T.C.H. Golf Scramble will begin with an 8 a.m. shotgun start at Florissant Golf Club, 50 Country Club Lane, Florissant, Mo. 63033. Entry is $500 per foursome. Hole sponsorships are $150. Lunch and beverage cart sponsorships are $600 each. Registration begins at 7 a.m. 50/50 tickets at Mulligans can also be purchased at this time. Proceeds benefit Painters and Allied Trades for Children’s Hope (P.A.T.C.H.) Make checks payable to PATCH and mail to 2051 59th Street, St. Louis, Mo. 63110. June 14 – 26th Annual Wood River Township Democratic Committeemen’s Golf Scramble will begin with a 10:30 a.m. to noon registration and a four-person scramble shotgun start at noon. Entry fee of $100 per player or $400 per team includes golf, carts, lunch, dinner and refreshments. Skins and mulligans are available for $20 each per team. Sponsorships range from $125 to a $1,000. June 21 – SHC Foundation Golf Tournament will begin with a morning  flight at 8 am. an afternoon flight at 2 p.m. at Spencer T. Olin Golf Course, 4701 College Ave., Alton, Ill. 62002. Entry fee is $500 for a four-person team. Registration includes cash prizes for first and second place, greens fee, cart, soda, beer, a post round meal and complimentary gift. Optional skins game and mulligans available for $20. Sponsorships range from $150 to $2,500. Register by June 12.
