Union and worker-friendly golf tournaments

• Aug. 3 – 27th Annual United Way Charity Golf Tournament sponsored by CWA Local 6300 and AT&T St. Louis Business Services at Norman K. Probstein Golf Course at 6141 Lagoon Drive in Forest Park. The entry fee of $90 per golfer, with an optional skins game, includes greens fees, cart refreshments and lunch. The field is limited to 144 golfers. Registration begins at 6:30 a.m., with a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start. Prizes awarded for Longest Drive and Closest to the Pin. • Aug. 24 – Glaziers Local 513 Charity Golf Classic to benefit the St. Louis Crisis Nursery will start with an 8 a.m. shotgun start at Florissant Golf Club, 50 Golf Club Lane, Florissant, Mo. 63033. Entry fee of $110 per golfer or $440 per four-person team includes lunch, cart, green fees, beer, soda and water. Lunch only tickets only at $25. Skins and mulligans included with entry fee. There will be raffles and a 50/50 drawing as well as prizes awarded for Closest to the Pin for both men and women and prizes for A, B and C flight winners. Tickets for the Grand Raffle are $50 each. • Sept. 7 – Sixth Annual Scotty Wirtz Memorial Golf Tournament to support the Navy Seal Foundation will begin with a 10 a.m. four-person scramble shotgun start at Sugar Creek Golf Course, 5224 Country Club Drive, High Ridge, Mo. 63049. Entry fee is $100 per person or $400 per four-person team. Hole sponsorship donations range from $100 to $500. Optional skins game is $20 per team. Award will be given for Closest to the Pin and Longest Drive. There will also be a prize raffle. • Sept. 14 – IAM Progressive Lodge 41 Charity Golf Tournament supporting the IAM Veterans Servi ce Program will start with a 10 a.m. four-person scramble shotgun start at Lockhaven Golf Club, 10872 Lawrence Keler Drive, Godfrey, Ill. 62035. Entry is $450 per team, with a $10,000 hole in one contest. Lunch, dinner and beer provided. Hole sponsorships are $100 on the box or $150 on the box and green. • Sept. 15 – Tee Off for Tots Charity Golf Tournament hosted by UAW Local 2250’s Community Services Committee to benefit Local 2250’s Adopt a Child program and the United Way will start with a 7 a.m. check-in and an 8 a.m. four-person scramble shotgun start at the Golf Club of Wentzville, 9 Pro Shop Drive, Wentzville, Mo. 63385. The entry fee of $125 per player includes green fees, cart, prizes and a meal. Skins and mulligans are each $20 per team. Prizes will be awarded for Closest to the Pin, Men’s and Women’s Longest Drive, a 50-50 raffle and three places in three flights. Make checks payable to UAW Local 2250, 1395 E. • Sept. 18 – Missouri AFL-CIO Golf Tournament will begin with a 9 a.m. registration and 10 a.m. four-person scramble tee-off at Oak Hills Golf Center in Jefferson City, Mo. Proceeds go toward member education. The entry fee of $600 (Silver Sponsorship) includes 18 holes of golf for four, with a cart, hole sponsor sign lunch, beverages and a chance to win various prizes. Other sponsorship options range from $200 for a Copper Sponsor to $1,000 for a Special Event Sponsor. Prizes will be awarded for Longest Drive, Closest to the Pin and Longest Putt. • Sept. 21 – 33rd Annual Greg Booth/Jack Van Horn Golf Tournament sponsored by Tri-County Labor Club, and 18-hole four-person scramble with three flights. will begin with a 7 a.m. registration and an 8 a.m. shotgun start at Warrenton Golf Course in Warrenton, Mo. The $400 entry fee per-four person team includes green fee, care, beer, soda and barbecue. Hole sponsorships are available for $125 per hole. Prizes awarded for Nearest to the Hole and Longest Drive.
