The Third Annual Union Night at the Ballpark with the River City Rascals raised $2,684 for the St. Louis Labor Council’s $5 for the Fight fund to help union members in times of need.

Union members attending the game were treated to good baseball and $1 beers, while ensuring the Fight Fund has the funds need to help union members and their families struggling as a result of a lay-off, medical expenses or other financial hardship.

More than 670 tickets for the game were sold to unions and union members, with $4 from every ticket benefiting the Fight Fund.

Pat White, president of the St. Louis Labor Council, accepted an oversized check from Andrew Marsh, in-game public address announcer for the Rascals, prior to the start of the June 7 game in which the Rascals brought home an 8-3 win against the Joliet Slammers.

This is the third year the Rascals have hosted a Union Night, raising a total of $8,184 for the $5 for the Fight fund.
