The Women’s Foundation of Greater St. Louis is sponsoring a breakfast meeting on gender equity Aug. 18.

Dr. Kimberly Norwood, the Henry H. Oberschelp professor of law at Washington University School of Law, will be the guest speaker and will present “Miles to go before we sleep – Gender bias and micro-aggressions still need our attention.”

Norwood will share data on gains women have made in the workforce and discuss the miles women still have to go. She will also discuss the two steps forward one step back ascension, the complicity women have in allowing women and girls to be confined by their gender and push women to [re]commit to gender equity.

Norwood is an author and the principal partner in her consulting company, KJN Equity Consultants, LLC and conducts implicit bias and cultural competency workshops, as well as DEI assessments. She is a member of the American Law Institute, a Fellow with the American Bar Foundation, and has various other community affiliations.

The event will be held from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at Missouri Foundation for Health at 4254 Vista Ave. in St. Louis. The event is free. To register, visit https://form.jotform.com/231934610493153.
