YOUR LETTERS: ‘American workers show up every day to do our jobs – House Republicans should take some notes’

Right now, around the country, working people are busy closing out this year. Many of us are trying to stretch our last few paychecks to cover high heating bills as the cold weather rolls in, while some are tightening our belts to afford child care as our children go on winter break so that we can continue working through the new year. And millions are up late, after our families have already gone to bed, calculating how to include holiday gifts in our already fixed budget.

And yet, instead of actually governing and passing legislation to put more money in the pockets of working people, extremist House Republicans are spending the last few weeks of 2023 pursuing a sham of an impeachment inquiry into President Biden. Workers show up at the polls and put our trust in these elected officials to serve our and our family’s interests, but Wednesday’s inquiry vote shows once again that GOP representatives are far more interested in petty tit-for-tat games than they are in actually working toward a better future for their constituents.

America’s workers from coast to coast show up every day to do our jobs—House Republicans ought to take some notes. Meanwhile, the Biden administration continues to prioritize funding heating assistance programs, lowering child care costs for working families, building our economy and lowering prices for consumers.
