We won, and we couldn’t have done it without Labor’s support, your members, your unions. Without you, none of this would be possible, and this victory shows that you trust the work we’ve been doing for the last three years in St. Louis County.
But this is just the first step.
The November election is less than 100 days away, and I need your continued support to help me secure another four years to continue moving the County forward.
Tough times remain ahead, but these times will be faced by experienced and resolute people. We will face those times together. And we will face them with a hundred lessons already learned. We will make St. Louis County a beacon of progress throughout the state and the country and continue to be one of the best places to work, live, and raise a family.
St. Louis cannot be healthy, cannot grow, cannot be safe until we address race, until there are enough good schools, good housing, good jobs, good healthcare, good transportation, good childcare, and good retirements for everyone, regardless of which part of the County you call home.
So, yes, the conversations must continue. And the actions must create change, particularly in North County.
For my part, I can say that the campaign battles among us Democrats are all finished, and any punches thrown, forgiven. I am happy to put aside all differences among Democrats so that we can work together through an economic recovery, leaving no one behind.
Once again, thank you. It’s been an honor to represent you, and it will be even more of an honor to continue to represent you for four more years.
