Construction Industry Specialist Certification class set for Nov. 5

construction-equipment-lt-p1atjrl9c25pii381e96aol9uvThe St. Louis Chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) is hosting a Construction Industry Specialist (CIS) Certification course on Saturday, Nov. 5

The class offers a comprehensive look at the construction industry and covers estimating and bidding, construction processes, contracts and more. You do not have to be a member of NAWIC or female to participate.

The event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Acme Constructors, 7212 Weil Ave., St. Louis, MO 63119. Certification testing will be held at the end of the session.

Melanie Myers, president of the NAWIC Education Foundation and the author of the course textbook, will be the instructor. Participants are required to purchase and read the textbook prior to the class.

The registration fee is $75, and textbooks can be ordered from the foundation at nawiceducation.org. The registration deadline is Oct. 1, and the class is limited to 20 students.
