IBEW Local 1439’s 22nd Annual Tom Krause Memorial Golf Tournament raised an outstanding $6,000 for the American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodge. A check will be presented at a future union meeting.

“Charity golf tournaments are very much dependent upon the golfers, sponsors and individual donations to be successful,” said Local 1439 Business Representative Jeremy Pour in a letter to golfers and sponsors on behalf of the union’s Golf Committee. “We thank you for your continued generosity in helping make our tournament a great success once again.”

The Hope Lodge Center, at 4215 Lindell Blvd. in St. Louis, is a residential support facility for cancer patients traveling to St. Louis for treatment.

Hope Lodge offers cancer patients and their caregivers a free place to stay when their best hope for effective treatment may be in another city. Not having to worry about where to stay or how to pay for lodging allows guests to focus on getting better.

Hope Lodge provides a nurturing, home-like environment where guests can retreat to private rooms or connect with others, and provides a variety of resources and information about cancer and how best to fight the disease.
