Office romance or love affair at workNavigating the minefield of love and romance in the workplace will be the topic of discussion at this month’s Labor Law Breakfast Series.

It’s February and love is in the air — or is that litigation? This time of year, love and romance can seem to bombard us, sometimes even in the workplace. But when do playful banter and off-color jokes cross the line from good-natured office humor into the land of potential liability?

Nathan Gilbert, an attorney at Hammond & Shinners, P.C. will be the guest speaker during this refresher course on sexual harassment and sensitivity on the job. He will also focus on some of the emerging trends and issues in the field during the hour-long discussion.

The presentation, which begins with a breakfast buffet at 8 a.m., will be Wednesday, Feb. 10 at the IBEW Local 1439 Union Hall, 2121 59th St., in St. Louis. The cost is $15 per person or $150 annually. Use the back entrance to the meeting hall. Parking is available on the street, in the back lot or at the Glaziers Hall at 5916 Wilson Ave.

The Labor Law Breakfast Series, which is held on the second Wednesday of every month, is sponsored by University of Missouri Extension St. Louis County. For more information, contact Rob Russell at russellrob@missouri.edu or register online.
