A varied parade of union members marked Labor’s big day in Belleville

Belleville, IL – Plumbers, steamfitters, teachers, communications workers, sheet metal workers and union members from dozens of other trades, along with their enthusiastic supporters, turned out for the annual Belleville Labor Day Parade on Sept. 3 in celebration of union pride and craftsmanship and the sacrifices and achievements of Organized Labor.

The parade, sponsored by the Southwestern Illinois Central Labor Council, wound through downtown Belleville, and concluded at Hough Park with the annual picnic, with food, music and rides for the kids.
