AT&T is sending jobs overseas

Imagine you have days to decide if you want to move hours away from your family in order to stay employed, or lose your job.

That’s the reality for thousands of AT&T workers across the country who have been forced to either relocate or be laid off when their call centers closed. Many of their jobs were shipped overseas to India and the Philippines where workers are paid much less and lack workplace protections.

That means AT&T boosts its profits at the expense of all working people, another example of the rich are getting richer while our communities are left behind.

AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson made promises to create jobs if Congress passed a big tax cut for corporations. Instead, AT&T has cut over 20,000 jobs since the bill passed.

You can make a difference by telling congress it’s time to investigate AT&T. Write a letter by visiting: actionnetwork.org/letters/tell-congress-hold-att-accountable-for-its-broken-promises-on-jobs.

It’s time for Congress to launch an investigation to find out what happened to the billions of dollars of our money that they gave away to AT&T and other corporations like CenturyLink and Wells Fargo that are cutting jobs.
