April 25 – SoCo Dems STL’s ‘Hello Candidates’ Happy Hour from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 9 Mile Garden, 9385 Gravois Road, Affton, Mo. Food trucks will be available and the canteen will be open for drinks. Drop in any time and say hello to your local Democratic candidates and like-minded neighbors!

April 28 – 2024 Workers Memorial Day Interfaith Prayer Service and Brunch at the Shrine of St. Joseph,11th and Biddle streets in downtown St. Louis. Brunch will follow at Maggie O’Brien’s restaurant, 2000 Market St., St. Louis, MO 63103. May 4 – Elevator Constructors Local 3’s Bass and Crappie Tournament will be held at Bass Point Resort on Lake of the Ozarks. Organizers are requesting donations to be given away as attendance prizes. All organizations donating will be recognized on Local 3’s sponsorship banner, which will be displayed throughout the tournament and at the weigh-in. Weigh-in sponsorships are also available at the following levels: Gold ($400), Silver ($300) and Bronze ($200). All sponsorships include signage at weigh-in and ads in the program book. All donations go to support the tournament and tournament-related costs. Respond by April 1 with checks payable to David Scott, 5916 Wilson Ave., St. Louis, Mo. 63111.

May 5 – 3rd Annual International Mother Jones Festival from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Mother Jones Museum, 215 E. Main St., Mt. Olive, IL 62069. The event will include music, a magic and medicine show, a sidewalk art competition for children, food, memorabilia, reading from the children’s book “The March of the Mill Children” at the public library, a commemoration of May Day at the Union Miners Cemetery, where Mother Jones is buried, and tours of the cemetery and Mother Jones Museum. May 11 – 34th Annual Bass Classic Tinners Tournament, hosted by Sheet Metal Workers Local 36, will be held at Hawk’s Landing Resort in the Lake of the Ozarks. May 11 – Laborers Crappie Tournament, hosted by the Missouri-Kansas Laborers District Council, will be held at Mark Twain Lake at Huck’s Hall at 19199 Buzzard’s Roost Road. May 15 – Labor Law Breakfast, hosted by the Labor Education Program at the University of Missouri Extension, will begin at 8:30 a.m. at IBEW Local 1439 at 2121 59th St. in St. Louis. Daniel Sparks, of Hartnett Reyes-Jones, will be talking about implications from the National Labor Relations Board’s Cemex Construction Materials Pacific decision. May 15 – Mental Health in Construction Breakfast, sponsored by Aetna, and co-produced with the Construction Forum and Missouri Works Initiative. A free three-part breakfast series discussion starting May 15 from 7:30-9 a.m. at the LiUNA Event Center 4532 South Lindbergh, Sunset Hills. Learn more about mental wellness issues in the construction industry and how to translate that awareness and concern into action in your organization. May 18 – CWA 6300 Music Bingo at Morton Hall, 2258 Grissom Drive, Maryland Heights, Mo. 63043. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Bingo starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25 per person or $200 for a table of eight. Beer, soda and water provided. Bring your own snacks. The evening will include a 50/50 raffle and silent auction. Prizes awarded in every round. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the MoNetwork. May 18 – Annual Member Appreciation Day, hosted by Bricklayers and Allied Crafts Administrative District Council of Eastern Missouri, will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the union’s hall at 1670 Fenpark Drive in Fenton. There will be food, drinks, a dunking booth, a petting zoo, face painting and activities for everyone, as well as exciting attendance prizes.

May 18 – Missouri Women in Trades Cornhole Tournament will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Golden Hoosier at 3707 S. Kingshighway Blvd. in St. Louis. In case of rain, the event will be held June 8. More information will be released soon.

June 11 – Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 562 Car & Bike Show will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the union hall at 3755 Corporate Trail Drive in Earth City. Local 562 will be collecting school supplies. For more information, call 314-630-1641.

June 15 – Guns ‘N Hoses Block Party on The Hill will be held from 4:30 to 10 p.m. at the Glaziers Local 513 union hall at 5916 Wilson Ave. in St. Louis. The family-friendly event, which supports first responders, will feature a DJ, a bounce house, a balloon artist, tours of first responder vehicles and dinner. The cost is $40 for two people and includes two bar or soft drinks, a limited edition t-shirt and dinner or $60 for two people with unlimited bar drinks, a limited edition t-shirt and dinner. June 22 – Teamsters 17th Annual H.O.P.E Poker Run, which is open to the public, will begin with check-in at 9:30 a.m. at the Teamsters Local 600 union hall at 161 Weldon Pkwy. in Maryland Heights. June 29 – St. Louis Union Solidarity Ride hosted by the IBEW Local 1 Riding Club, will start with registration from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Local 1 union hall at 5850 Elizabeth Ave. in St. Louis. The poker run, which is open to all union members, is $20 a hand and $5 for additional hands. It includes a 50/50 raffle and several basket raffles.
