CBTU hosting 33rd Annual Ernest & De Verne Calloway Awards Banquet Oct. 19

The Coalition of Black Trade Unionists (CBTU) St. Louis Chapter will celebrate the 33rd Annual Ernest and De Verne Calloway Awards Banquet Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Marriott Grand Hotel in St. Louis.

The awards are given in honor and memory of the husband and wife team of Ernest and De Verne Calloway, who dedicated themselves to the struggle for human, civil and Labor rights.

This year’s banquet will honor St. Louis City Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner.

Margarita “Maggie” Anderson, CEO of the Empowerment Experiment (EE) and author of the acclaimed book about EE, Our Black Year, will be the keynote speaker.

The evening will start with a reception and cash bar at 6 p.m., followed by dinner and the awards program at 7 p.m.
Donations for the banquet are $90 per person or $900 for a table of 10.
