Competitors, sponsors, judges needed for St. Louis NAWIC Block Kids Building Competition

The St. Louis chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) is searching for competitors, sponsors and judges for this year’s 33rd Annual Block Kids Building Competition on Jan. 13.

The event, which is for children in kindergarten through sixth grade, introduces kids to the construction industry in an effort to create awareness and promote careers.  It is sponsored by Budrovich and will be held at its Lakeside Conference Center at 10300 Lake Bluff Drive in Affton.

Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. Children will be given interlocking blocks and will have about an hour to create a project based on the instructions provided. Afterward, they will have lunch while their projects are being judged followed by a short awards ceremony.

The Block Kids Building program is an award-winning national building competition sponsored by the NAWIC Education Foundation and implemented at the local level by individual NAWIC chapters.
