IBEW Local 309 has reached a three-and-a-half-year contract agreement with Frost Electric Supply, bringing Local 309 and IBEW Local 1 together in representing Frost workers on the St. Louis and Metro East sides of the river.

The agreement impacts Frost warehouse employees in Illinois.

“Both sides are happy about it,” Local 309 Business Manager Scott Hassall said. “It’s a very positive extension between IBEW and Frost Electric. We’re on both sides of the river now.”

The contract agreement means Frost will continue to benefit from IBEW’s skilled membership, while Local 309 and Local 1 contractors can continue to rely on Frost Electric Supply for quality products, service and expertise.

Local 1 has represented Frost employees on the Missouri side of the river for more than 50 years.

Bill Freeman, vice president of sales and operations for Frost said Local 309 representing employees on the Illinois side of the river is “a good thing for both parties.

“It’s a fair contract, and I’m excited to work with Local 309,” Freeman said. “We’re hoping it means we’ll be patronized by Local 309 contractors.”

Frost has locations in the Metro East in Collinsville, IL and Lebanon, IL; in the St. Louis Metro Area in Maryland Heights, St. Louis and O’Fallon; and in Mid-Missouri in Columbia.

“Our membership enjoys the service of Frost Electric Supply and they’re glad to support Frost,” Hassall said. “We’re glad Frost is a signatory contractor in the book of Local 309, and we’re glad to support them.”
