IN MEMORIAM: Fire Fighters (IAFF) Local 2665’s John ‘Dale’ Wheeler

International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) Local 2665’s John “Dale” Wheeler, 65, died June 25, 2019, at his home in St. Charles, Mo. He served as a fire captain of the University City Fire Department, retiring in 2007 after 30 years of service.

Brother Wheeler is survived by his wife, Judy (nee Gordon) Wheeler, of St. Charles; his parents John W. and Lorene (nee Rees) Wheeler, of Belleville, Ill.; a sister, Patricia (Larry) Simpson, of Belleville; step-children, Shaun Evans, Shane Pritch and Nicholas Reynolds; step-daughter-in-law, Heather Pritch; step-grandchildren, Kylie Horton, Paiton Pritch and Damiane Pritch.

He was preceded in death by his step-son, John Reynolds.

A funeral service was held June 29, 2019, at Emmanuel Church of the Nazarene. Memorials may be made to the church and mailed to 8201 Old St. Louis Road, Belleville, IL, 62223.
