IN MEMORIAM: Laborers Local 110’s Kenneth J. Johnson, Jr.

Kenneth J. Johnson, Jr., a 54-year member of Laborers Local 110, died June 29, 2019.

Brother Johnson, 85, received his education in Union, Mo. After high school, he joined the U.S. Army and loaded ammunition and mortars in the Korean War. He worked and retired from U.S. Silica after 42 years.

Brother Johnson is survived by his children, Elizabeth (Melvin), Kenny, Brenda, Stevie, Chuck (Dana) and Bobby, 19 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Laura MaLinda (nee Clark) Johnson; his wife, Ada (Perkins) Johnson; his brothers, Howard Harding (Sadie), Marvin Johnson (Dolly), Charles Johnson (Laverne) and Clifford Johnson (Earlene); his maternal grandparents, Lewis and Alice Clark; two sons, Danny Johnson and Darrell Johnson; and grandchildren, Kenny Holmes and Kiya Whitesides.

A funeral service was held July 5, 2019, at the Franklin County Baptist Association in Union with interment at Chiles Cemetery in Union.
