IN MEMORIAM: Iron Workers Local 392’s Robert Reeves ‘Bob’ Boxley

Robert Reeves “Bob” Boxley, a member of Iron Workers Local 392, passed away peacefully March 25, 2024 at home in Waterloo, Ill. at age 72.

Brother Boxley was born Feb. 12, 1952, in Fairview Heights, Ill. “Bob” was a true renaissance man and had many hobbies, in addition to owning and operating a small business in Waterloo for 12 years. Bob was united in marriage to Paula Slaner in 1992.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Paula (nee Slaner) Boxley, of Waterloo; sister, Rebecca (Gary) Ahring, of O’Fallon, Ill., brother-in-law Bobby (Shelly) Slaner, of O’Fallon; children Cheris (Shawn) Stidham, Robert J. Boxley, Kelly N. Boxley, Robert P. (Sarah Mendoza) Boxley, Thomas M. Boxley and Wendy M. (Nick) Jupin; grandchildren Dillon (Lauren) Stidham, Austin Stidham, Evan Stidham, Drake P. Boxley, Mila R. Boxley, Justin L. Branstetter and Logan M. Branstetter; nieces and nephews Angela M. Meddows, Danielle L. Thorstensen, Ashley R. Thorstensen, Kylie M. Meddows, Shelby (Jacob) Scheler, Sidney Slaner, Dalton Slaner; and countless other extended family and friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents Robert E. Boxley and Louise E. (nee Essary) Boxley; special grandparents John and Lois Kisselbach; and father and mother in-law Jack & Mildred (nee White) Slaner.

Private family services will be held at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, the family prefers memorial contributions to Shriners Hospital.
