IN MEMORIAM: IBEW Local 1’s Daniel Shane Cramer

Daniel Shane Cramer, of Festus, Mo., passed away April 17, 2024 at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus. He was born Feb. 6, 1963 in Festus, the son of the late Mary “Nancy” (nee Brown) and Deane Gerald Cramer.

He was a telecommunications technician with IBEW Local 1 in St. Louis and an avid St. Louis Blues and Cardinal’s fan.

Dano, as his friends called him, lived life at full throttle and on his own terms. He loved his family and friends fiercely and would do anything he could for anyone. His presence in our lives will be greatly missed. The best way to honor Dano is to live life with enthusiasm. When you gather together, share your stories of the good times you had with him, his stories and antics are legendary. When you are fishing this summer, think of him, he loved nothing more than hooking a big fish (sometimes his stories of the fish were bigger than the actual fish). He would want us to celebrate the life he lived!

He is survived by his wife Kristen (nee Pruneau) Cramer, of Festus; daughters Cassidy Cramer, of Festus, Alecia Cramer, of Florida and Abbey (Sam) Redman, of Arnold; brother David G. (LaVon) Cramer, of Decatur, Ill.; and grandchildren Chance Cramer, Bennett Lakebrink, Liam Redman and Lillian Redman.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Laura Marie Martin.

Funeral services for Daniel and his father Deane were held April 22, 2024 at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus, followed by interments at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City, Mo. Memorials in Daniel and Deane’s memory are preferred to the Alzheimer’s Association.
