Don Raymond Kempken, Jr., a member of Laborers Local 110, was recently released from his pain at age 59 surrounded by family.

What a battle he fought and was courageous till the end. The family will so miss his love, humor, quick wit and his devotion and love for his family. What a hardworking man he was, Don worked alongside his father Donald Raymond Kempken, Sr. for many years, and after the passing of our beloved dad in 2003, he was a devoted employee at Byrne & Jones Construction.

He is survived by his heartbroken, loving mom Sue, his loving brother Russ (Kish), his loving sister Nina, his beloved and cherished nephew Nick (Hailey) and his many friends. Don was an animal lover his whole life and leaves behind his beloved dog Enzo and his cat Chewy who are now being loved by his family.

The family would like to thank Byrne & Jones for helping him without hesitation when they had no obligation to do so, and a special thanks to his girlfriend Sheila who helped him throughout this horrendous battle. He is now reunited with his dad, and it gives us comfort to know he is finally at peace. Oh, how we will miss you so, we love you Donnie and will keep you in our hearts forever. Donnie was a gem, may his light shine on.
