IN MEMORIAM: Laborers Local 110’s Floyd Corless

Floyd E. Corless of Foristell, Mo., a 59-year member of Laborers Local 110, passed away on Jan. 4, 2024 at the age of 90.

Brother Corless is survived by his four sons, Brian Corless of Utah, Ron Corless of Illinois, Jim (Chris) Corless of Troy, Mo., Danny (Shannon) Corless of AZ; four daughters, Brenda (James) Webbink of Foristell, Mo., Debbie (Jack) Dempsey of St. Peters, Mo., Donna (Jerry) Cisar of St. Petersburg, Fla., Sheila (Bill) Harvey of Wichita, Kan.; 13 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James E. Corless and Katie M. Corless (nee Sappington), sisters, Lela Mae Huck and Betty  Langley.

Brother Corless was a car enthusiast, whether it was collecting old cars or working on them. He was somewhat of a homebody, but for 25 years, six days a week he gathered with the “breakfast club” at Bob Evans Restaurant. He also enjoyed playing dominos and hanging out around the house working in the yard. Floyd loved his family and friends and enjoyed the time he was able to spend with them.

A funeral service was held Jan. 11 at Pitman Funeral Home in Wentzville, Mo. Memorial donations may be made to  St. John United Church of Christ Cemetery Fund in Cappeln, Mo.
