IN MEMORIAM: Laborers Local 110’s Franklin ‘Frank’ D. Crittendon

Franklin “Frank” D. Crittendon, age 86 of Clinton, Mo., a Laborers Local 110 retiree, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kansas City, Mo.

Brother Crittendon was born Sept. 17, 1934 to Marian Crittendon and Carrie “Tripp” Crittendon in New Madrid County, Mo. After leaving high school early to join the Army, he served during peacetime between Korea and Vietnam.

While in the service, Frank was able to complete his education, receiving his GED. Upon his being discharged, he went to trade school and completed a course in welding. Frank went to work in the construction trade, serving as a foreman with Laborers Local 110.

Frank was an avid fisherman. It has been said, “Now that Frank is gone, the crappie can finally come out of hiding.”

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Lynn Crittendon; children, Sherry, Carrie, Eric, and Kim; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren; his brother, Sonny; two sisters, Sue and Lou; and a host of other family and many friends.

Preceding Frank in death were his parents; two children, Frankie and Michael; and five brothers and sisters, Ed, Leroy, J.C., Ruby and Jim.

Brother Crittendon’s wishes were to be cremated. A memorial will be scheduled at a later date.
