Local tradeswomen, Plumbers & Pipefitters 562, painting contractor honored at MOWIT Awards Gala

Three local tradeswomen, Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 562’s CHAMPIONS program and a painting contractor signatory to Painters District Council 58 were honored during the 2nd Annual Missouri Women in Trades Tradeswomen Awards Gala on Oct. 30.

About 30 people attended the virtual gala, which was held on Zoom, while others joined via Facebook Live. The event recognized the hard work and achievements of area tradeswomen and honored unions, contractors and industry members who have gone the extra mile.

This year’s winners included:

  • Tradeswoman of the Year: Lynette Bryant, a Carpenters Local 97 journeywoman.
  • Lifetime Achievement/Legacy Award: Candice Rejmenczak, president of Painters Local 471.
  • MOWIT All-Star Advocate: Windy Chafin, an Operating Engineers Local 513 journeywoman.
  • Union/Apprenticeship Program of the Year: Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 562 CHAMPION program.
  • Contractor of the Year: The PaintSmiths of St. Louis, a contractor signatory to Painters District Council 58.
