In Memoriam: Laborers Local 42 member Donald Rogers, Jr.

A longtime member of Laborers Local 42, Donald Gene Rogers, Jr., 55, died Dec. 14 at his home in Festus.

Brother Rogers was born Aug. 3, 1962 in Herrin, IL to Donald and Sharon Rogers of Granite City; they survive. He married Catherine Sue Kyle on June 29, 2009 in St. Genevieve County, MO. She survives in Lake St. Louis, MO. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Laura T. Rogers.

Other survivors include his son Donald Gene Rogers III of Granite City; step-sons Timothy Stiles of O’Fallon, MO, and John Stiles of New York; sisters Tracie Frech of Mitchell, IL, Diana Vangel of Pontoon Beach, IL and Kelley Niiyama of Indianapolis; and brother Douglas Andrew Rogers of Wood River, IL.

Funeral services were held Jan. 6 at Wojstrom Funeral Home, 3939 Lake Drive, Granite City.

Burial was in St. John’s Cemetery on Maryville Road in Granite City. A guestbook can be seen at wojstrom.com.
