In Memoriam: Machinists Lodge 660’s Donald Frisse

Donald L. Frisse, a Machinists Lodge 660 member who worked at Olin/Winchester for many years, died May 28, 2022 at his home at age 87.

He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, gardening, his CB club Indian Creek and spending time with his grandchildren. He was very proud of his Cherokee heritage.

Brother Frisse of Edwardsville, Ill., was born on July 16, 1934 and was the son of the late Albert & Cleda (Dutton) Frisse. He married Anna R. Sturgeon on Sept. 11, 1954 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Edwardsville. She preceded him in death on Jan. 25, 2012.

He is survived by four sons: Donald (Jody) Frisse of Fenton; Dan A. Frisse of Edwardsville, Dennis E. Frisse of Edwardsville, and Darrell W. Frisse of Collinsville; one daughter, Diann L. (Michael) Frisse-Jurgena of Edwardsville; four grandchildren, Christopher D. Kelley, Danielle M. Frisse, Renee R. Frisse, and Justin W. Frisse; four great-grandchildren, Brandon Z. Kelley, Alexander M. Devening, Charlette M. Hartweger, and Cordelia F. Falkenberg; a sister, Irene (Ed) Cuddihy of New York; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, Don was also preceded in death by a daughter, Doris M. Best.

A funeral service was held on June 3 at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home in Edwardsville, followed by interment at St. Boniface Cemetery in Edwardsville. Memorials may be made to the Metro East Humane Society, St. Boniface Catholic Church or the charity of the donor’s choice.
