Ironworkers Local 396 is proud to be a part of the “KirtKrew” team for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

Kirt Ochitree is a retired Ironworker battling Alzheimer’s. The union is hoping to help him and his family reach their goal of $2,000 in donations to the Alzheimer’s Association.

“Kirt continues to be #IronworkerStrong in battling this disease, and we are asking you to help,” Local 396 shared on Facebook. “A donation of any amount to help the #KirtKrew would be greatly appreciated.”

Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. An estimated 50 million people worldwide are living with dementia. In the United States alone, more than six million have Alzheimer’s, and over 11 million are providing unpaid care. The Alzheimer’s Association provides education and support to the millions who face dementia, while advancing critical research toward methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure.

You can donate to the KirtKrew team or join the team for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s at Fox High School, 751 Jeffco Blvd, in Arnold, on Saturday, Oct. 14. Sign up for the walk or donate at shorturl.at/lBN48.
