IBEW Local 1 member Bernie Ryan (left), secretary-treasurer of the South County Labor Club, and Iron Workers Local 396 retiree and Labor Club officer Ed Koehler (right), place yard signs for UFCW Local 655’s Alex Lange, who is running for the St. Louis County Council’s 6th District seat and County Executive Sam Page, both of whom have been endorsed by the St. Louis Labor Council in the Aug. 4 primary election. The South County, North County and Rockwood Labor Clubs, along with a number of volunteers, placed yard signs for Page throughout the county on July 8. A strong supporter of Organized Labor, Page signed an ordinance last November requiring all projects using county tax incentives to pay prevailing wage, and created the new position of Prevailing Wage Enforcement Coordinator, to ensure compliance with prevailing wage laws across county government. If you would like to help in the election by getting or helping distribute yard signs, call or text Bernie Ryan at 314-779-6622 or email sclcplo@gmail.com. – South County Labor Club photo
