Camdenton, Mo. – The Fourth Annual Laborers Local 110’s Cops & Bobbers Fishing tournament raised over $50,000 for charity here at Red Oak Resort and RV Park Sept. 9. The St. Louis County Police Welfare Association received $45,000. Another $5,000 went to CHADS Coalition for Mental Health, whose mission is to save young lives by advancing the awareness and prevention of depression and suicide. And nearly $1,000 went toward Manchester Police Department’s Sgt. Merideth Absolon, who is fighting breast cancer. Local 110 President Rob Reed said the tournament gets bigger and better each year. “It’s one of the better known fishing tournaments because it is open to the public,” he said. “We had 132 boats this year compared to 98 last year, and guys were already wanting to pay to participate next year.” Information on next year’s tournament will be released soon. – Laborers Local 110 photo
