SLATE Missouri Job Center will host its 2nd Annual Holly Jolly Holiday Hiring Fair over five days this month and next. The event aims to bridge the gap between job seekers and businesses looking to hiring new talent during the holiday season for both seasonal and permanent employment opportunities.
To meet the need of filling vacancies throughout various companies and organizations, the event has numerous returning employers and new employers, and will take place from 9 a.m. to noon in the first-floor conference rooms at 1520 Market St. The first date of the fair was Nov. 7. Upcoming dates include Nov. 15 and 30 and Dec. 8 and 16.
NO COST TO PARTICIPANTS
There is no cost for participants, who will have an opportunity to meet and interview with various companies for entry level, mid-career, and professional positions for in-demand industries such as healthcare, IT, manufacturing, transportation and logistics, hospitality and customer services, among others. Most employers will be hiring workers on-the-spot to fill immediate openings. SLATE staff will also be present to provide information on the various employment and training opportunities provided at the agency.
“SLATE is excited to offer yet another opportunity for St. Louisans to engage with local businesses for immediate employment,” SLATE Executive Director Fredrecka McGlown said. “For five days our community will receive an increased number of options for individuals to care for their families and allow businesses to grow and provide more jobs for our city.
“Recommended parking is at Kiel Center Garage, situated immediately behind our building, at the corner of Clark & 16th. We ask that all candidates attending the Job Fair bring their résumé and dress for success.”
