Mark your calendars for the Thomas Schmid Scholarship mouse races fundraiser Dec. 1 at Trinity Lutheran School in Orchard Farm.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Races begin at 7:30 p.m. Reserve a table for eight at $160. Water and soda provided. Bring your own snacks and beverages. Table members must be 21 or older. Race sponsorships available. Raffle baskets and items are also needed.
Brother Schmid, a third-generation Sheet Metal Workers Local 36 member, died Sept. 27, 2016 in an ATV accident at age 26. He was also a volunteer fire fighter with Orchard Farm and Rivers Pointe fire districts. Schmid graduated from Orchard Farm High School in 2009. The scholarship is open to seniors at Orchard Farm or Lewis and Clark Career Center who are pursuing an education in technical training or agriculture.
