Tri-County Labor Club returns to in-person meetings, events

After a nearly two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Tri-County Labor Club is returning to in-person general membership meetings and events.

The club, which represents union members in St. Charles, Warren and Lincoln counties, is recommending that participants take the necessary precautions for themselves and others and refrain from attending if they are sick. Masks will be available for those who request them.

“It has been far too long since we all gathered,” said Tri-County Labor Club President Joe Mueller. “We will have an active election year and really do need to pull together to help further the cause of Organized Labor throughout the Tri-County area and the state.”

HOLIDAY PARTY
The first event will be the annual holiday party/food drive on Tuesday, Dec. 7 at the club, located at 10 Droste Square in St. Charles. The party will be held in an open-house format from noon to 8 p.m. to allow people to arrive at different times in an effort to mitigate large crowds. Food and drinks will be provided and attendees are asked to bring canned food to help the needy.

GENERAL MEETINGS
Beginning on Jan. 4, the club will once again host its monthly general membership meeting at 6:30 p.m. at 10 Droste Square in St. Charles. The executive board meets at 6 p.m. Meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month.

MOUSE RACES
The club will host its annual mouse race fundraiser, which is open to the public, on Friday, March 4 at the Christy Banquet Center, 9000 Veterans Memorial Parkway in O’Fallon, Mo. Doors open at 6 p.m. and first race starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 per person or $25 a couple. Players take home prizes, and the Labor Club raises funds to support Labor-friendly political candidates.
