Union Sportsmen’s Alliance Missouri Conservation Dinner coming up Aug. 21
Union members and outdoor enthusiasts are invited to attend the Union Sportsmen’s Alliance (USA) 3rd Annual Missouri State Conservation Dinner and fundraiser at 5 p.m. Aug. 21 at St. Ferdinand Knights of Columbus Park at St. Ferdinand Shrine 50 Rue St. Francis, Florissant, Mo.
The USA is one of the fastest-growing conservation organizations in the country, with membership recently topping 600,000.
In a letter to union members, Gary Payeur, business manager of Heat & Frost Insulators Local 1; John Stiffler, executive secretary-treasurer of the St. Louis Building & Construction Trades Council; and Pat White, president of the St. Louis Labor Council encouraged attendance at the dinner, noting proceeds from the fundraiser will go toward providing a grant to renovate, build or enhance an area park, conservation area or other outdoor facilities with the help of union volunteers.
Some recently completed projects include:
- Two fishing piers at Wilmore Park in St. Louis.
- A boat ramp at Minnie Ha Ha Park in Sunset Hills.
- A covered fish cleaning station at Roaring River State Park in Cassville, Mo.
“Please plan on joining us for this rewarding part of the labor of the Labor Movement,” Payeur, Stiffler and White wrote. “Let’s show them what the ‘Show Me State’ is all about!”

Tickets are $75 per person and include dinner, a gift and a one-year USA membership.
Table sponsorships include dinner and gifts for 10 guests plus your choice of an American-made table prize of either a Remington 783 rifle or a 40-quart Orca cooler.
Sponsorship levels are:
- Platinum ($10,000) – Five table prizes.
- Gold ($5,000) – Three table prizes.
- Silver ($3,000) – Two table prizes.
- Bronze ($1,500) – One table prize.
- Veteran ($2,000) – One table prize and raffle tickets.
Prize, event and game underwriters will be recognized in the dinner agenda and presentations.
