The 2017 Women Build Nations Conference will be held in Chicago for the second year in a row, allowing more St. Louis-area tradeswomen to travel to the event since it’s close to home. Historically, it has been held California.

The seventh annual conference, co-sponsored by the North American Building Trades Unions (NABTU) and Chicago Women in the Trades, will be held Oct. 13 to 15 at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place in Chicago.

The conference is for women of all ages and skill levels who work, or aspire to work, in the construction trades. It brings together women from multiple construction crafts to build leadership skills, learn strategies for overcoming challenges and unite around common issues.

Last year’s conference was the most well-attended in the event’s history, drawing about 1,500 women from 40 states, Canada, Nigeria and the Philippines. About 25 local tradeswomen took part in the event.

More information on the event will be released in coming weeks. Stay up-to-date by visiting chicagowomenintrades2.org.
