Labor Tribune, Finkelstein among honorees at this year’s Hershel Walker ‘Peace & Justice’ Awards

The St. Louis Workers’ Education Society and the Missouri People’s World will host the 25th Annual Hershel Walker ‘Peace & Justice’ Awards Breakfast at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 13, at Painters District Council 58 union hall, 2501 59th St. in St. Louis

Hershel Walker was a St. Louis trade unionist and human and civil rights leader committed to the struggle for peace and justice. He devoted his life to movements for social transformation and joined workers across the world for jobs, peace and freedom.

The Awards Breakfast will feature a keynote address by Bhaskar Sunkara, founding editor and publisher of Jacobin Magazine, a leading voice of the American Left with one million monthly readers.

AWARDEES

This years’ awardees include:

• Missouri State Representative Bruce Franks (D 78.)

• St. Louis Alderwoman Cara Spencer (Ward 20).

• Richard Von Glahn, organizing director for Missouri Jobs with Justice.

• Ed Finkelstein and the St. Louis/Southern Illinois Labor Tribune.

TICKETS AND AD BOOK

Tickets are $25 per person, or $200 for a table of 10.

Ad book prices are: $500 (full page), $300 (half page), and $150 (quarter page). The ad book deadline is May 8.
