As we (celebrated) another Labor Day, a day dedicated to honoring the hardworking individuals who power our nation’s industries, I wanted to… reflect on the significant role that unions play in making our lives better.

Labor Day serves as a poignant reminder of the historic struggles and accomplishments that have shaped the modern workforce. It is a day when we come together to recognize the tireless efforts of workers who have fought for fair wages, safe working conditions, and the right to be treated with dignity and respect. Labor Council for Latin American Advancement (LCLAA) stands as a beacon of these ideals, championing the rights of workers across industries and driving positive change that reverberates through generations.

THE TRUTH
The truth is – life is better in a union.

Being a union member grants you more than access to collective bargaining and negotiations. It provides you with a strong support system that values your well-being, fights for your rights, and ensures that your voice is heard.

Unions have been key to the securing improved workplace conditions, job security, and compensation for Latino and immigrant workers. Beyond this, there’s a sense of unity and camaraderie that comes from being part of a community that stands united in the pursuit of better opportunities for all.

CONTINUE TO STAND UNITED
Let’s continue to stand united, advocating for positive change and striving for better opportunities for every worker. Thank you for your unwavering dedication and commitment to LCLAA. Together, we are a force that shapes the landscape of Labor for the better.

EVELYN DEJESUS
LCLAA National President
