YOUR LETTERS: ‘Starve the beast’

Politicians have twisted themselves into knots trying to hand gobs of cash to the wealthy for the last 40 years.

It was a plot: Make the wealthy even wealthier, starve the government, and then cry poor when budget deficits add up. Anti-tax activist Grover Norquist said as much when he called his tax cut pledge a “starve the beast” strategy. “The beast,” in that case, being the United States of America.

THE REAL GOAL
Lowering taxes for the rich isn’t an end in and of itself – it’s the means to the end of Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, housing, infrastructure, public safety regulations and more … they want to drag us back to the pre-Civil War era.

We won’t let them.

The first step is to boldly fight for the rich to pay their fair share!

Tell Congress: Raise taxes on the Rich & Corporations, don’t cut services for working families!
