Residents of the St. Louis metro area have been asking for an increased minimum wage for years. I am proud to have listened to that call and raised the minimum wage to $15 an hour for all county employees when I entered office.
I believe all our employees play a crucial part in the function of our county government and deserve to be paid a fair wage. A higher minimum wage is vital to reducing employee turnover and boosting our local economy.
Simple steps like paying employees what they deserve is how we will continue to move St. Louis forward. I’ll always fight to make St. Louis County the absolute best place to live and work.
